Yes. A DEXA scan uses extremely low-level X-ray radiation — significantly less than a standard chest X-ray, and roughly equivalent to a few hours of background radiation you encounter in daily life. The technology has been used in hospitals and research settings for decades and is considered safe for the vast majority of healthy adults.
The DEXA Body Composition Scan takes around 8 minutes. VO2 Max runs approximately 20 minutes. The RMR Test is 15 minutes of relaxed breathing. Clients booking all three assessments are typically in and out in 60 minutes or less, including check-in and results review.
The DEXA Body Composition Scan is the most critical assessment for anyone on GLP-1 therapy. It shows whether the weight you're losing is fat, muscle, or both — information the scale is completely blind to. Roughly 1 in 3 pounds lost on GLP-1 is lean mass. The DEXA tells you whether you're in that group. Pairing it with RMR adds a full metabolic picture.
